How the story ends...
A Mini Iceberg iies in it's final resting place on the beach at Jokulsarlon, Iceland. Having fallen as rain millenia ago, the water then froze into the nearby glacier where it lay for thousands of year, finally it calfed from the glacier and drifted out to sea and was then washed up on the shore and soon the circle will be complete.
Cold as Ice
A mini iceberg lies on the black volcanic sands of Jokulsarlon beach in Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland, The berg will have calved from the glacier that feeds into Jokulsarlon ice lagoon a short distance away having been born from snow that fell hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years ago. It then floated slowly through the lagoon towards the outfall river and finally out into the sea where it washed up onto the shore. The icebergs appear in two shades: milky white or bright blue like this one, dependent on the air trapped within the ice.
